The Scribbler

This post comes with a warning - read at your own risk - for the subject matter is highly addictive!!

Yes The Scribbler. Its the most amazing little thing I've come across in a while thanks to one of the many blogs I follow (sorry - I cant remember which!) Its hard to explain but you just do a doodle or drawing and the program does the rest - and its very cool! You need to try it out - you'll find it here.

Here is a scribbler doodle I did this morning.

Drawing with a mouse is hard (for me anyway) so I'm looking for a decent tablet for my mac. I'm looking forward to the day I make a discovery that wont lead to me NEEDING to buy new things :D Now - go and have a go, but you have been warned !!!!

Flame Off 2009 - what a blast!

Our View

Hot Torches

No - I havent fallen off the face of the earth - I've been away at the Flame Off. It was amazing. I was running the Metal Clay Classes and honestly is was really great to be a part of such an amazing event. So many lovely people all under one roof! As an added bonus some of the extra lovely ones (you know who you are) were staying in our hotel! I made some new friends and was lucky to catch up with old ones. I was also thrilled to get to drool over some of Sarah Hornicks beautiful beads again - but I made up for the mess by giving her a super condensed Metal Clay lesson ever over dinner :). Check out Sarahs beautiful beads and great blog here.

A Huge Thanks to everyone at Tuffnells Glass who worked so hard to make it such an amazing event! See you all there next year!

Art Nouveau Inspiration & New Beads

For the first time REALLY I have found that I am fascinated by architecture. I've been looking online at images that come up when you google "Art Nouveau" . The more images I see the more images I see the more fascinated I become. Here are a couple of my fav pics so far! Its making me want to travel to see these amazing places with my own eyes!

And here is a sneak peak at my new beads - they are cleaned - just not photographed yet. These should be up on the main web shop by the end of the weekend - I hope :) Happy Easter!! x

My beads on CIM Website

Well, it is turning out to be a good week, (but I'm a little scared to say so in case something goes wrong!) I just got an e-mail from Kathy Seamunds of Creation is Messy. These "Ruby Jewel" Beads of mine feature a lot of her Cranberry Pink glass. She liked my beads so much that they now have a place on the Cranberry Pink Bead Gallery!! Honestly - there is hardly a bead that I make these days that does not have some Cranberry Pink in it! I think its the most beautiful colour! Check out the whole range of Creation is Messy Glass here.

I'm RUNNER UP In the Beads & Beyond Competition

Towards the end of last year I entered the Lampwork Competition that was being run by magazine Beads & Beyond. I am totally thrilled today to find that my entry came Runner up in the Intermediate Category. To know that the experienced and super talented judges Sally Carver, Ray Skene & Beverly Hicklin liked my beads means an awful lot to me. I'm not sure I can top runner up - but I'm thinking about my entry for the competitions in Bead Magazine now. I enjoy entering them - its exciting! I wont spoil the results for those who are waiting to get their Beads & Beyond magazines but a massive congratulations to all the other winners, runners up & special mentions! Now - wheres my champagne!
