If at first you don't succeed.......

try and try again right?? I'm not so sure. During the weekend on the course somebody mentioned that it takes a silly amount of hours to become an expert in something - it was thousands!! Now - I'm not really trying to become an expert on anything, but I AM trying to build a hollow on a fine silver core. Its not working. To check that it wasnt my hollow bead making skills that were at fault I made a hollow - and its quite nice even if I do say so myself. Its big enough to go on my Christmas Tree too (when I get one) - so thats not the problem! But no matter how many times I try its like the glass just collapses and falls in on itself. It must be possible, others can do it. Maybe I will experiment with no caps, a thinner core and caps with no core and see if any of those combinations work. Any way - here is what my bead looks like after I got cross and threw it in my water jug ...... its a shame I cant somehow fix the shattered glass as I happen to think its really nice!

You know what? I really like that bead. Is it stable? I like the crinklyness. I mean, okay, it's not a huuuge fan-dabby-dozy hollow, but it's a perfectly nice bead, and I'm really intrigued by the reactions you seem to have got. In fact, I want to see a proper close-up pic!!! :o) Hang in there, chuck, you'll master it!

:D This glass will all fall off if I even so much as touch it lol. It has shattered because I chucked it into my water jug. I'll get the glass off and keep trying. I'd like it too like this though. Nice effect. Broken glass lol xx

When you find a cure for broken glass can I have it please. I made a little bird bead, my first attempt at a 'shape' and then dropped it on the concrete floor and broke it into about 6 pieces :(
